Web Services for Visitors and Members

Using various free services, some visitor and feedback features have been added in our websites. To organize the presentation of these features, some previous contact channels have been removed (or re-channeled to another). Here are the specifics planned:
  1. Contact Us - The Contact Us page in the COC Website would be removed. A link would be provided that would take the visitors to the Contact us page of the Web Portal. The Contact Us page of the COS would be maintained due to the distinct community of the sponsors.
  2. Guest Book - One is provided for the COC Website (particularly for cadets who might want to separate themselves from cadet officers' feedback), and another is for the Web Portal. This feature is already up in the two sites.
  3. Forum - One to be provided is for the whole UP Manila ROTC community, but the link is provided in the COC Website. It is planned that this service would be password-protected. Members-to-be may email the Webmaster for the username and password.
  4. Downloads - This would basically contain PDF and DOC files of lecture sheets and military information. The link to the site would be password-protected and would be provided in the COC website, too.
  5. Updates - The explanation to RSS is linked to the Web Portal, but every website has an update graphic.
For feedback on this plan or suggestions, please do not send to send me an email. You may also use the Chatterbox on this page.

Web Update: New Sections

Who takes the hard responsbility of managing the Corps and achieving the objectives and visions?

The Officers.

Who are thought of as supermen or power-trippers?

The Officers.

Who answers to the DMST, the University officials, and the Army when the cadets fail?

The Officers.

Why not create a section for them?

Why not indeed.

In this light, a new section has been created in the COC website, the "Officers" page. In this section, there is a narrative about what it is to be a cadet officer (particularly, in UP Manila ROTC), and the Corps of Officers as an organization. A series of links would also be added here about the "View from the Top" articles from the Cadence Database.

Next. Do you still know Hail the Corps? Or do you even know UP Naming Mahal? Well, worry no more.

A page has been created that would display the songs of the UP Manila ROTC - from UP Naming Mahal and Push on UP to Field Artillery Song and Scout Ranger Hymn.

Visit the Corps Website to appreciate them better.

Web Update: New Cadence Article, New Info upcoming

In keeping with my promise to update the website EVERYDAY, a new article has been added to the database. This is the Cadet's Field Day which was first published in the September-October 1999 issue of Cadence.

As for other parts of the website, I regret to inform that there are no new articles published yet. There are, however, already a list of new articles which are just waiting to be ENCODED. They are already finished in terms of writing the article.

Thanks for visiting the website.

Website Update: New pages in COC Website

For those who see the websites other than the homepage, this might not be news anymore. For those who see the first page of the websites (e.g., http://home.earthlink.net/~upmrotc/coc) ONLY, you would notice a lot of developments. This time, there are too many developments to mention. So just visit the websites.

All the websites are continuously updated. Further, all websites are inter-connected - besides the link of "Go the UPM ROTC Portal" or "Link to UP Manila Corps of Sponsors Website" - there are articles which are mentioned in one organization, but the article needs to be placed in the site of the other organization. This would allow visitors to see all the organization's sites.

As a target for the website administrator, I would be adding a Cadence article EVERY DAY. I work Saturday to Wednesday. Those days, there would be an additional Cadence article to be added in the Database.

Please utilize also the Chatterbox with the COC website. This has been created particularly so that visitors - particularly members - could exchange messages about the developments and activities of the organization without numerous emails in everybody's mailbox.
